Five Lakes Coffee - Kalamazoo
Clark Logic partnered with Five Lakes Coffee to redevelop a vacant former KFC restaurant at 2026 West Main Avenue in Kalamazoo, Michigan, into a modern coffee destination.
Originally built in 1962, the 2,380-square-foot building had become underutilized after the restaurant closed. Clark Logic acquired the property and completed a comprehensive renovation, transforming the aging structure into a vibrant space that aligns with the Five Lakes Coffee brand and customer experience.
The redevelopment included updated exterior branding, modern finishes, enhanced landscaping, outdoor seating, and a complete interior remodel. The result was a welcoming, contemporary coffee shop designed to serve both customers and the surrounding community.
Founded in Sturgis, Michigan, in 2002, Five Lakes Coffee opened the Kalamazoo location in September 2021 as part of its continued regional growth. The project demonstrates how strategic redevelopment can revitalize existing properties while supporting expanding local businesses.
The Kalamazoo location remains a successful example of adaptive reuse, turning a vacant building into a thriving community gathering place and a valuable commercial asset.
