GREEN Reusable Container Cleaning

GREEN Reusable Container Cleaning
At Clark Logic we are committed to sustainability and are conscious that the products we use to clean your reusable containers will have a lasting impact on the environment.
In many cases, our advanced, high-powered pressure washing can remove dirt, grease, oil and debris with water alone – and without the need for harsh or toxic solvents.
But when detergents or cleaning solvents are required to remove grease, oil and other stubborn contaminants, eco-friendly plant-based bio-solvents can be used to reduce a company’s carbon footprint.
In this article the container cleaner experts at Clark Logic discuss “green” cleaners (bio-surfactants and bio-solvents) that are derived from renewable earth-grown products that do not pollute the planet.
Bio-surfactants and bio-solvents are derived from sustainable plant-based feedstocks and vegetables such as corn, soy, citrus and others.
Bio-surfactants are able to naturally separate and/or mobilize oil from various surfaces without chemical alteration or damage to surfaces. Specialized industrial cleaners containing bio-surfactants are highly effective emulsifiers for long chain hydrocarbons, including petroleum and paraffin wax products.
Bio-surfactants work as industrial container cleaners by creating a semi-stable oil-in-water emulsion. When the emulsion breaks, the hydrocarbons, water and solids then separate into layers. And since there is no change to the structure of the hydrocarbons, it allows efficient recovery of the oil.
Bio-surfactants are readily biodegradable, while bio-solvents are typically 100% biodegradable to lactic acid and other organic compounds, consumed by micro-organisms in the soil or water.
Bio-surfactants provide many significant advantages when used in container cleaning, including:
Bio-based solvents derived from renewable resources can include differing solvent blends that offer high performance as cleaning solvents for reusable plastic containers.
Bio-solvents are highly effective against a wide variety of contaminants. Bio-solvents have excellent solvating ability for resins, pigments, gums, soils, fats, oils and greases.
In most industrial container cleaner applications, the performance of bio-solvents can be enhanced by the addition of specific co-solvents or other ingredients.
Bio-solvents provide many significant advantages when for container cleaning, including:
